    The wheels are usually a carbide abrasive, such as silicon carbide, with a thermoset binder. It used to be phenolic based, tho there may be other materials used now. Thermoset is important because the binder won’t soften with heat as thermoplastic materials will

    Aluminium oxide. Aluminium oxide and Silicon Carbide.
    Silicon Carbide.White Aluminium Oxide.
    all the and more are mixed up with a binding agent placed in a mould and baked much like disc brake pads.
    Depending on use and speed rating may also contain fibreglass reinforcing
